Jonah's Journey: Dreams in Motion
Imagine starting over in a new city, a foreign land, with nobody to rely on but yourself. That's Jonah's story when he arrived in Nashua, having grown up abroad. It wasn't an easy path.

But Jonah is a portrait of resilience. Six months ago, he joined Stepping Stones as a homeless youth with big dreams and unyielding determination.

From day one, Jonah was driven by ambition, setting clear goals to escape homelessness. Today, we're thrilled to share his progress.
He's now working towards a certification in collision repair at Nashua Community College, excelling in his studies. With a steady job and goals in sight, Jonah's journey is a testament to the power of determination.

His dream? To become a certified auto repair technician and open his own shop. Jonah's story is a reminder that with hard work, anyone can turn their dreams into reality.

Addy's Journey: From Homeless to Advocate
On his eighteenth birthday, Addy made the difficult decision to leave an abusive home, choosing the unknown path of the streets over continued suffering. However, his story took a turn for the better when he found Stepping Stones. With unwavering determination, Addy embarked on a journey to achieve his goals, including securing a permanent place to live, finding employment, staying in touch with his siblings, and experiencing positive opportunities he had never had before in his family environment.

In just one year, Addy has transformed from feeling hopeless and alone
to being housed, employed, and highly active in the community. He co-founded the H.E.A.L. youth advocacy group and is a member of Greater Nashua's committee to end youth homelessness. His story has been shared on WMUR news, and he's spoken at events like the 2023 Youth Homelessness Sleepout. Addy is currently a student in a UNH-based program, training to become a social worker with lived experience, with plans to help future generations of youth transition into self-sufficient adulthood. Adding to his list of achievements, Addy is now working at Stepping Stones as an assistant case manager.

“I never had to question if I would be accepted here. I’ve never been given a reason not to just be myself”
Fiona
"We are still getting used to having a place like this where we can feel safe. It's been a long time since we've felt that way."
Spencer
“Before, housing felt like mission impossible. But now I have the mentality to go out and get it”
Journey of Transformation: Haley's Path to Resilience and Success"
When Haley first found support, her mental health was at an all-time low. Her self-doubt not only made it difficult for her to reach her goals but also became harmful to her health. She got by with the support of a few friends, but the real glimmer of hope for her was the news that transitional housing for homeless youth would soon open up. Haley counted down the days until her new home opened, and once she had a roof over her head with staff and peers she trusted, things finally fell into place for her.

She got a job, took care of some outstanding health concerns, and became the first person from the original cohort to graduate to the next
step. Since then, she’s gone on to earn her GED and graduated from the LNA training apprenticeship at St. Joseph Hospital. Earlier this month, Hayley passed her state boards and has landed a full-time LNA position.
